Rug Cleaning in Prattville
Collection and delivery in Prattville are included. We take the rug back to the workshop, wash it properly, and bring it home.
What Prattville is built from
The Autauga County seat, founded on Autauga Creek in 1839 by Daniel Pratt and nicknamed the Fountain City for its artesian wells. A genuinely mixed stock: nineteenth-century mill-era cottages and larger houses in and around the historic district downtown, then decades of subdivision building spreading north and east away from it.
Everything from families three generations into the same street to arrivals who wanted a short run over the river into Montgomery. Rugs at both ends of the scale, frequently in the same house.
The Prattville problem
Prattville sits where the hill country runs into the coastal plain, and that boundary passes through the town, so houses here get two different soils tracked in through the same door. The sandy side delivers coarse, angular grit. It stains nothing and does not need to, because it settles at the base of the pile and saws at the knots from below every time somebody crosses the room. The clay side delivers the opposite: a dark, fine, plastic particle that binds to wool and greys a whole field without ever reading as a stain. They need opposite handling, too. Sand has to be shaken and air-dusted out while it is bone dry, because wetting it packs it tighter against the foundation; clay has to be dissolved and flushed, because dry-brushing only polishes it further in. Getting that the wrong way round on a rug carrying both is how a cleaning leaves a rug looking worse than it started.
If that sounds like your rug, send the form and describe what you are seeing. We will tell you whether it needs the full treatment or not.
