Rug Cleaning in Halcyon
Collection and delivery in Halcyon are included. We take the rug back to the workshop, wash it properly, and bring it home.
What Halcyon is built from
East Montgomery off Vaughn Road: brick and stucco houses from the 1980s and 1990s on comfortable lots, almost all slab-on-grade, with the air handler in a closet or up in the attic and ductwork run through the roof space above the bedrooms.
Settled families and empty-nesters, with the sort of rugs that were bought once, properly, and are expected to last thirty years. Hallways and bedrooms carry most of them.
The Halcyon problem
The most common water-damage call out here has nothing to do with weather. An air conditioner working through a Montgomery July pulls gallons of water a day out of the air, and every drop of it leaves through one narrow drain line. That line blocks with algae, the pan overflows, and because the unit is in the attic the water comes down through the ceiling into a bedroom or a hall — usually at night, usually onto a rug, and usually behind a shut door. It starts as clean water and stops being clean the moment it crosses insulation and drywall, and a soaked wool foundation in an eighty-degree room does not have long. The instinct is to put a box fan on it, which dries the pile, leaves the foundation loaded, and delays the smell by about ten days rather than preventing it.
